．The improvement of competitive advantages in Southern Taiwan

　　National Sun Yat-sen University has been the one of the most important academic research sites in Southern Taiwan. It has maintained a good interactive relationship with local citizens and played the role as an academic thinking tank in Greater Kaohsiung and Pingtung. With such a background, this program aims to establish a learning team having all the local competitive advantages of industry-government-university cooperation in Southern Taiwan. This team will be capable of meeting the challenges of a constantly varying environment and every student of this program will benefit from the rich output of the cooperation. We expect ourselves to serve as the elements that improve the competitiveness of Southern Taiwan.

　　In the face of a knowledge economy and in a creativity-oriented new era, we will cultivate outstanding leaders who are innovative and have marketing abilities through the stimulation of new concepts and training of new thoughts brought by our versatile curriculum. These leaders will cohere their subordinates and boost their morale with exciting prospects.

．New trends of globalization and interdisciplinary learning

　　To respond to the ever-changing global trends, the key question is to obtain a broader vision for administrative capabilities and the ability to smoothly execute administrative decisions. The new trends prompt us to integrate the six departments and two research centers under the College of Social Science. The integration allows us to establish a interdisciplinary learning platform, provide numerous globalized courses, and broaden the thoughts and visions of our students.

　　This program assembles rich academic foundations and connections in the industry-government-university cooperation. The final purpose of this program is to provide talents who possess integrated public policy analysis, leadership, and prospective and strategic awareness. For now, we have gathered talented students from departments of science, engineering, management, law, politics, and economics to study together in this creative and surprising learning environment. We expect that this place of learning in Sizihwan, which emphasizes new values and thinking, will serve as a platform for lifelong learning for future political and economic leaders in Taiwan.
